100% chardonnay
In 2019 we experienced dry winters on the back of a dry 2018. Spring was warm with little rain, setting us up for another compressed harvest. In the vineyard focus was to ensure vines evaded the effects of heat stress; loose canopies to allow shading and judicious watering where possible. Due to the lack of rain throughout the season we experienced lower than normal crops, however quality was ensuring with small berried and intensity of flavor across the board. A great year. The fruit was picked from Block 11 at Koomooloo. The Block has a southerly aspect. The vines were leaf plucked and secondary shoots removed to allow free air drainage and allow dappled sunlight and at veraison bunch thinning aiming to achieve a crop of about 5 tonnes. The grapes were handpicked, chilled, and pressed the next day. Fermentation with native yeast. Barrels: 1- or 2-year-old French oak from a range of coopers - aged for 12 months in barrel.

Excellent light bright colours, green straw. Very lifted bright fruit showing complexities, but fruit dominated. Vibrant bright fruit, great length, clean acid finish, excellent drinking but will age for some time. PS
